My philosophy about why hair thinning and hair loss occurs is a new way of learning about hair thinning and hair loss. Most of us have been told by doctors or stylists that there is not much we can do about it, except for using Minoxidil or taking Propecia (if you are a man), but those doctors and stylists also acknowledge that doing that alone doesn’t stop our hair from falling out.
The perplexing part of this journey for me was that once I found out that it all comes down to blood flow, I was truly blown away that no one in the pharmaceutical world or beauty industry has ever spoke about it this way. Why has it been made so complex and “unknown” when it can be so simple? Remove the barriers blocking a healthy blood flow and our hair gets the nutrition it needs to thrive.
I think one of the reasons why we are kept in the dark is money. I spoke of this here. There is a lot of money being made on us not having all the answers.
Another reason is that my school of thought is from the natural world that looks at the root cause instead of just “putting a band-aid” on the symptoms and not looking at why those symptoms exist.
The best way to understand hair thinning and loss is choosing to see it as being an indicator of what is happening within. It is actually signaling us that what's going on internally is blocking the blood flow to our scalp.
If our hair is starting to thin it could just strictly be “genetic” and for no other reason except that it is inherited. But a lot of the time it's our body's way of letting us know it’s not well. So it's really cool, actually, that we have this opportunity to receive a warning sign from our body that we need to dig deeper into our health and wellness.
Unfortunately, western medicine and our society have never put much emphasis on how important it is for us to know how our bodies work, so we can understand the signs we get when we are not well. We have never had the tools at our access to dig deep.
